What is the Teen Stroke Group and why do they meet?
Circle of Rights recently launched a Teen Stroke Group, created specifically for teen stroke survivors between the ages of 10 and 19 as well for the caregivers and families of teen stroke survivors.
At a recent meeting, three caregivers attended along with two teens from three different households. The emotional response from families was powerful — two caregivers were nearly moved to tears during the meeting, underscoring just how important and needed this group is.
This group provides a safe, supportive space for teens navigating stroke recovery and for caregivers who need community, understanding, and shared experiences. We are committed to growing this much-needed resource for families facing the unique challenges of teen stroke.
What can I expect when I join a Teen Stroke Group meeting?
We meet on Zoom, and everyone turns on their camera so we can see each other. We talk about brain health, emotional support and social relationships. The first half of the meeting is for teens and the second half is for caregivers. Each group talks for about 30 minutes.
